    • She was obliged to accompany her daughter, Deborah, through the streets of Salem, MA when her daughter was tied to a cart's tail and whipped. This punishment was inflicted upon Deborah because she had walked naked, except for her shift, through the public thoroughfare to demonstrate against the religious persecution of the Quakers by the Puritans.

    • It was proven on 19 Jun 1688, and was executed by her sons, Joshua and Caleb. It was witnessed by Edward Flint, Samuel Shattuck Sr., and Roger Derby. She signed with a mark. It read:

      "Being very aged and for better satisfaction of my children and relatives to the end they may live in peace and contentment."

      She left the following:

      "To daughter Sarah Beanes all my every day wearing clothes and 2 pair sheets. To daughter Lydia Locker my serge petticoat and 2 pair sheets. To daughter Mary Neale my Castor hat, 1 great iron pot, my mixed colored large loose coat, 1 pair small Holland sheets marked M, 1 pair sheets more, and to my 3 daughters above mentioned all my small linen and shifts to be equally divided.

      "th the 4 children of my daughter Margaret Smith, viz: Mary Nurse, George Smith, Exercise Pope and Tamosin Smith, 10 each; 5 in money and 5 in movable goods as prized in Inventory. To grandchildren Deborah Foster, one great brass kettle and 16, or if her brother Robert Wilson is not satisfied, then the land at Castle Hill that is their part and the 16 to be equally divided between them, or if Robert be contented he to have the land wholly and his sister Deborah the 16. To grandchild Exercise Pope my green rug, bell metal skillet, frying pan and sieve. To granddaughter Damaris Buffum, my coverlid. To granddaughter Sarah Darling my iron kettle. To grandson Caleb Buffum my second best iron pot. To granddaughter Tamosin Buffum my silver cup. To granddaughter Lydia Leonard one of my best pewter platters, and to her sister Elizabeth Beckett the other best platter. To granddaughter Tamosin Beans 1 young cow to be kept in hands of my son Caleb until she comes of age or her marriage, and if she dies, then to her brother Robert Beans. To granddaughter Elizabeth Kellam, 1 pair sheets. To daughter Mary Neale a debt of about 16 or 18 shillings which is due to me from Thomas Ives, and to grandson Jeremiah Neale 1 cow. To son Joshua 3 acres of fresh meadow. To son Caleb 2 acres of meadow and a great pewter basin.

      "Rest of property to be divided betwixt my sons and daughters."

      The inventory amounted to 141, 7s. 2d. The appraisers were Samuel Gardner Jr. and John Pickering.
